About This Extract

Nimbin-Standardised Neem Extract

Neem extract (Azadirachta indica) concentrates the key limonoid bioactives of the neem tree — primarily nimbin, nimbidin and azadirachtin — into a standardised, concentrated form. Nimbin and nimbidin are the primary antibacterial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory compounds in neem leaves and bark, while azadirachtin (from seed) is the key insect growth regulator used in biopesticides.

PAX Herbal offers two neem extract types: leaf/bark extract (standardised for nimbin 2%) for pharmaceutical, cosmetic and Ayurvedic applications, and seed kernel extract (standardised for azadirachtin) for biopesticide applications. Both are produced using a controlled extraction process to maximise bioactive yield.

We supply to natural skincare brands (acne, anti-dandruff), Ayurvedic pharmaceutical manufacturers, biopesticide formulators, dental care product companies and veterinary product manufacturers globally.

Buyer FAQs

Nimbin and nimbidin are limonoid compounds found primarily in neem leaves and bark — responsible for its antibacterial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties used in skincare and Ayurvedic preparations. Azadirachtin is a tetranortriterpenoid found primarily in neem seed — responsible for its insect growth-regulating properties used in biopesticides. Different applications require different extracts.
The leaf/bark aqueous extract (standardised for nimbin) is most appropriate for skincare. It is water-miscible, compatible with most cosmetic formulations and has the antibacterial and anti-inflammatory profile required for acne-control and anti-dandruff products.
