About This Product

Amla Amalaki

Amla (Emblica officinalis), known in Ayurveda as Amalaki, is one of the most revered rejuvenating herbs in the Indian tradition — a cornerstone of Triphala and Chyawanprash. It is the richest known natural source of Vitamin C at approximately 600mg per 100g of fresh fruit, substantially bioavailable due to the presence of tannins that protect the ascorbic acid from oxidation.

PAX Herbal sources amla from Rajasthan and supplies dried whole fruit, fruit pieces and fine powder. All grades are tested for Vitamin C content, tannin percentage and moisture. Both food-grade and extract-grade material is available.

Our amla is supplied to Ayurvedic manufacturers (for Triphala and Chyawanprash), hair care product brands (Amla oil), antioxidant supplement companies and functional food manufacturers across Europe, North America and the Middle East.

Amla's Vitamin C is naturally protected by tannins (ellagic acid, gallic acid) that prevent oxidative degradation. This makes it significantly more stable and bioavailable than isolated synthetic ascorbic acid — a key selling point for natural supplement brands.
Yes. Standardised amla extract (35%+ tannins, 30%+ Vitamin C) is available as a separate product — see our Amla Extract page.
