About This Product

Rajasthan Dill Seed

Dill (Anethum graveolens), called Sowa or Suva in India, is a member of the same botanical family as cumin and coriander, but with a distinctly different aromatic profile — fresh, slightly citrus-herbal, dominated by carvone and limonene. Rajasthan is India's principal dill seed growing region, producing seeds with consistently high volatile oil content (2.5%+).

PAX Herbal supplies machine-cleaned and gravity-separated dill seeds. Volatile oil content and carvone percentage are tested per batch. Food-grade (for pickles, bread, fish dishes) and essential oil grade (for oil distillation) are both available. EU MRL pesticide residue standards are met.

We supply to pickle manufacturers, bakery ingredient companies, essential oil distillers, herbal tea blenders and pharmaceutical digestive preparation makers across Europe, North America and the Middle East.

Common Questions

Buyer FAQs

Carvone is the primary aromatic compound in dill essential oil — responsible for its characteristic fresh, slightly mint-like, herbal character. At 40%+ carvone, our dill meets the quality specification for food flavouring and essential oil applications. (Note: carvone also occurs in spearmint in its mirror-image form — dill uses D-carvone; spearmint uses L-carvone.)
Yes. EU pickle manufacturers are a primary export market for our dill seed. We meet all EU MRL pesticide residue requirements and can provide full documentation.
Indian dill (Anethum graveolens) and European/American dill are the same species — the difference is in growing conditions, harvest timing and processing. Indian dill typically has higher volatile oil content and lower moisture, making it preferred for essential oil extraction. European dill is often preferred for fresh culinary use.
MOQ is 500 kg. Sample quantities available for evaluation.
