About This Product

Kerala Green Cardamom

Cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum), the "Queen of Spices," is the world's third most expensive spice after saffron and vanilla. Kerala (particularly Idukki district) is the world's most prestigious cardamom origin — producing pods with the highest 1,8-cineole and terpinyl acetate content, giving the characteristic clean, eucalyptus-floral, sweet spice aroma prized globally.

PAX Herbal supplies green cardamom in three sizes: 6mm, 7mm and 8mm, each in Bold (premium), Regular and FAQ grades. Volatile oil content (6%+) is consistent across grades. White cardamom (bleached green) is available for markets that prefer the milder visual and flavour profile. Black cardamom (Amomum subulatum) is also available as a separate product.

We supply to confectionery manufacturers, masala chai producers, Middle Eastern food companies, perfumers, beverage companies and pharmaceutical formulators across the Middle East, Europe, North America and Japan.

Common Questions

Buyer FAQs

The number refers to the minimum pod diameter. 8mm Bold is the largest, most visually impressive pod — premium for retail and gifting. 7mm is the most commonly used size for food processing and blending. 6mm (Regular) is a cost-efficient grade for volume food applications.
White cardamom is green cardamom bleached with sulphur dioxide or peroxide to produce a cream-white colour. It has a milder flavour and is traditionally used in certain Middle Eastern and Northern Indian preparations. It is losing favour as natural food preferences grow.
Green cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum) is the "true" cardamom — used in sweets, beverages and delicate dishes. Black cardamom (Amomum subulatum) is a different species entirely — it has a smoky, earthy, camphor-like aroma and is used in rice dishes, curries and meat preparations where its bold smoky character works.
MOQ is 250 kg per grade. Sample quantities (50–100g) are available for sensory and oil content evaluation.
